As someone who has been trying to learn Italian off and on for years, I can't recommend Filippo enough! His program works and will get you speaking and understanding Italian quickly. The videos are easy to understand, the homework assignments really help and all of the sessions with Filippo bring it all together. I went through the first part of the program and had to sign up for the advanced program because it was working so well!

Filippo is the real deal! His highly effective method is designed for native English speakers. He cares a lot about his students and making sure they understand each concept, and he doesn’t stop until it sinks in. He also provides a lot of insights into the practicalities of spoken Italian that you don’t find on YouTube or in grammar books. The program is also spaced out over a good amount of time for people who have busy schedules. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who’s interested in learning the language, and more importantly, learning it right!

I have been learning Italian with Filippo for 6 months now. Filippo always comes prepared with a lesson plan but he is also very flexible if I have a concept that I want to go over again. I like that grammar concepts that were introduced in earlier lessons are built upon in later lessons - both to reinforce the knowledge and to build it so that I can make more complex sentences. The lessons are fun and the hour always passes quickly. I would certainly recommend him to any native English speaker who wants to learn Italian!

Don’t walk; run…to sign up for lessons with Filippo! If you are serious about Italian, this is a no brainer. I have taught English to foreign students and have worked with many tutors, some better than others. Trust me when I tell you that Filippo is the best. His method and delivery work! Despite being a tutor, I am not a good Italian language student, but in the short time I have worked with Filippo, I have improved by leaps and bounds. Filippo focuses on what you really need to know. Using his hacks, you gain confidence quickly and want to keep going. Filippo is funny, confident, and encouraging. He’s genuinely excited to see you improve. So, what are you waiting for?

I am an older student and someone who hasn't done too well with language learning. I had gone through two tutors in Italy, a live classroom environment (in Denver), and had tried language apps (Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, ad nauseam), but was terribly discouraged with my progress. I was ready to throw in the towel and give up earlier this year, but "Italienglish" caught my eye. In our world of too much information, I have come to appreciate Filippo's effectiveness in cutting through the clutter and focusing on linking key words together, with grammar, to advance learning into manageable bites; and, not an overwhelming mountain of too much information. Therein lies the value of "Italienglish." The pace of learning is comfortable, and Filippo has a sense of timing and empathy that is supportive and encouraging. After months of failure with others (and other methods), the feel of progress is like a breath of fresh air.

I could probably sit here and think of writing a very long review, but I'm going to keep it simple for anyone looking for a teacher - Look no further. Filippo has the skills to get you from 0 to conversational extremely quickly. Also, if you already have previous experience, he custom plans based on your experience level anyways. To be honest, I take about 2 lessons per week now, but the reality is that I really do look forward to attending those lessons. The first half or so of each hour is basically getting taught the material and then the second half is typically in-use of the material covered. Man, I'm trying not to sound like a stereotypical propaganda, but seriously, such a great teacher. Most fun I've had in a long time learning a language.

A man with a plan! What a great teacher. Felippo always comes well prepared and brings a warm personality as well an excellent knowledge of grammar to each lesson. What I also like is that at each step he checks your understanding so that you feel confident in using what you've just learnt. You never have to worry about finding topics to learn because as he says, he always has a "plan" 😀

I absolutely recommend Filippo! He is a very skilled teacher, who really taps into the way your mind works and tailors the material accordingly. I have tried different Italian courses and other Italian teachers, but I haven't found anyone else who teaches Italian in this unique way. His lessons are really practical, so it's easy to take what you've learnt in the classroom and use it in the real world!
